FATHER HENNEPIN FESTIVAL (June 13-15, 2008)
Historians report Champlin is the site where Father Louis Hennepin first crossed the Mississippi in 1680. Today, The community celebrates its heritage with the annual Father Hennepin festival.
Each year on the 2nd weekend in June, a three day community celebration is kicked off with a parade, amusement rides and live music. Family, youth and adult activities run all weekend long, and culminate with a reenactment of Father Louis Hennepin crossing the Mississippi River.
The 2008 Father Hennepin Festival is scheduled for June 13 - 15. Don't miss out on the fun!
